We've been working hard to create wonderful initiatives to bring to Riley's Kids Camps. You can read more information and what this means for your camp below.

Free period products for our girls
Play on
At our holiday club, we believe every child deserves to feel comfortable, supported, and respected. That’s why we’re proud to go above and beyond by offering free period products to any child who needs them.
✅ Why We’re Doing This
-
We recognise that period poverty is a real issue affecting many families.
-
No child should have to feel embarrassed or stay away from activities because they don't have access to the products they need.
-
This initiative is part of our commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and caring environment for all.
✅ How It Works
-
A Play On Box is included in the kit resources for every holiday club location.
-
It contains a range of essential products including pads, wipes, and spare underwear.
-
These are discreetly available for any girl who needs them—no questions asked
✅ Raising Awareness
-
Posters will be displayed around the venue so children and parents are aware of the support available.
-
Coaches and Head Coaches are informed and supportive, helping ensure the system runs with respect and privacy.
Let's get
SUN SAFE
Raising awareness of sun protection in sport
✅ We have a duty of care to our children to protect them whilst they're in our care. This year, we've stepped up our care and are now partnering with the Melanoma Fund, to ensure we protecting our children from the sun. During warmer camps, we will be seeking permission from parents when booking for permission for their child to apply our suncream at lunch times. We will have a Sun Safe box in the kit resources, with sun cream and wipes in and posters/certificate to display. The Sun cream is specific for camp, please don't offer personal sun cream to children. Children without permission should bring their own, Head Coach to check!

SEND Support
We are committed to making our holiday clubs inclusive, welcoming, and accessible to all children, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
🌟 Building Individual Support Plans
-
We personally call each parent/carer of a SEND child before the club starts.
-
This helps us build a comprehensive profile of the child’s needs, preferences, triggers, and support strategies.
-
We work closely with parents to ensure the child feels safe, understood, and included from day one.
🌈 Creating a Calming and Supportive Environment
-
We offer a dedicated Well-Being Corner where children can take a break if they feel overwhelmed or need quiet time.
-
Staff are trained to recognise signs of anxiety, overstimulation, or sensory needs and support children compassionately.
🧺 Sensory Boxes and Activities
-
Each club is equipped with Sensory Boxes that include calming tools such as fidget toys, weighted items, textured materials, and ear defenders.
-
We provide adaptable tasks and visual aids to help children engage at their own pace and in their own way.
🧠 Staff Awareness and Inclusion
-
All staff are briefed on the individual needs of SEND children in their group.
-
We encourage a flexible approach to activities, offering choice and adapting games to suit different needs.
-
Inclusion is at the heart of everything we do—we aim to ensure every child feels valued and part of the fun.

Riley's Reasons
Giving every child the opportunity to feel like a superhero
For some families in our community, there are Reasons why attending Riley's just isn't a priority, and we get it. We have allocated completely free spaces, every day, for families who just need that extra bit of support from us... welcome to Riley's Reasons.
✅ What Reason would qualify for free spaces?
We are a small, family run business that understands that life can be challenging sometimes. We've found, over the years that sometimes, we all need a bit of help from time-to-time. The Reason for applying for free spaces to attend our camps, could be anything from the HAF programme not covering February and May holidays and parents need their child to attend so they can continue to work (but can't afford to pay), to families that do not qualify for benefit related free school meals but would really benefit from their child attending our provision but funds are very tight. Reasons such as family bereavements and children coming to us would be a welcomed distraction in their time of need, to families just having a hard time affording childcare.
✅ Children booked on through Riley's Reasons are booked on through Class for Kids. They are to be treat like a paid place, and they'll bring lunch and snacks.

Making Food FUN
At our holiday club, we believe food should be fun, hands-on, and confidence-building! We encourage children to explore new tastes, develop independence, and enjoy healthy choices through creative, interactive food activities through our Food and Nutrition Programme.
🍌 Hands-On Food Fun
We run regular food-based sessions where kids get involved in preparing their own meals and snacks. Some of our favourites include:
-
Build-Your-Own Wraps
– Kids choose their own fillings and roll their wraps, making lunchtime personal and fun. -
DIY Pasta Pots
– Children mix pasta with sauces and toppings of their choice, learning about balance and flavours. -
Fruit Kebabs
– A colourful, creative way to encourage fruit eating! Kids design their own kebabs with a mix of chopped fruit. -
Smoothie Making
– Children get to blend their own smoothies, choosing from a variety of fruits and optional extras like oats or yogurt. -
Fruit Cutting into Fun Shapes
– Using safe, child-friendly tools, kids can create stars, hearts, or animals out of melon, apple slices, or cucumber.
🍴 What They Learn
-
Healthy eating habits
-
Basic food prep and hygiene
-
Choice-making and independence
-
Confidence around food in a no-pressure environment
✨ Why It Matters
Food time becomes more than just eating—it’s about engagement, creativity, and life skills. Plus, picky eaters are often more open to trying new things when they’ve made it themselves!
Our Food Leads at each venue will faciliate our wonderful
Camp Chef's menu, and encourage the children to get involved! You can see your food menu on the front desk. The HAF children will be taking part in this activity only. Please check dietary lists.

Supporting our Community
It's your job to support our families
We're not just a holiday club provider, we're a part of our communities. It's our mission to support our parents and guardians, however we can, whether that be through offering the HAF programme, our Riley's Reasons initiative or signposting our community to helpful resources in their area. As a part of our family of Coaches, it's your job to spread the word on all the amazing work we are doing to facilitate children having the best experience with us, and when they go home.
We've created an amazing initiative, covering all the areas local to our clubs. You can read more here.
